THE DREAM
Building a community garden and fresh food market in a food desert neighborhood.
Darius grew up in a neighborhood where the closest grocery store was 4 miles away and the closest liquor store was 2 blocks. He watched his mother develop diabetes not from laziness — but from lack of access to real food.
Fresh Roots Farm is his answer. A half-acre community garden that will grow fresh produce, run free gardening workshops, and host a weekly market where residents can buy healthy food at cost — or trade labor for food if they can't afford it.
The land is secured. The community is ready. The dream just needs fuel.
